Poço Belo, Lumiar: the free pool on the way to Boa Esperança
Leaving the centre towards Boa Esperança, still inside the district, the first pool on the way is Poço Belo. It charges nothing, has a small fall and sits in one of the busier parts of the village.
According to Descubra Nova Friburgo there is parking, a bar and a restaurant nearby, and shallow stretches that suit children. Vem Viver Lumiar marks it as pet friendly. The Viciada em Viajar blog found it fairly large, with a smaller sandy strip than Poço Feio.
The Boa Esperança route
From Poço Belo to São José waterfall is 2 km. Above it lies Indiana Jones, currently closed. The Parador Lumiar is in the same area, on Estrada do Amargoso. Compare the pools in Lumiar waterfalls.
